5 out of 5 stars Bob's Red Mill Gluten-Free Brownie Mix   July 28, 2008
A. Auvray
I am so glad to have found this product. I make up a batch with the nuts and chocolate chips and keep a few out and freeze the rest and when we want something for dessert I take a few more out and keep the rest in the freezer for the next time. It keeps us from eating them all up at one time. They are moist and go great with soy icecream.

5 out of 5 stars As good as they have all said!   July 5, 2008

We have some dietary restrictions in our home because of food allergies. One thing that has helped me not feel deprived has been these brownies! I am a brownie person in general anyway, and even used to always request them instead of a birthday cake.

This is what I do to make them dairy & egg free as well:

Make as directed, except for a few things.
Use coconut oil/butter (melted) for the oil. Bring 1/3 c. water to a boil with 2 T. flax seeds and simmer 5 minutes. Use that in place of the egg. Then I add 1/2 bag of Ghiredelli dark chocolate chips (dairy free), and put in a 8" pan (I like thicker brownies), cooking at 350 F for approximately 25 minutes. Let cool a bit and indulge. Mmmmmmm!

I cut into generous squares, about 3" x 3" (hey, it's about my only indulgence!) and wrap them individually in plastic wrap so I can take them along when I go out to dinner, friend's house for a meal, church potlucks, etc.

They are pricey, but ooh la la!

These are delicious! I make them with applesauce instead of an egg, to make it vegan, and I add about 1/4 cup of sunspire chocolate chips, and everyone in my family loves them! They have a great fudgey texture. Definitely recommend!

Bob's Red Mill Gluten Freee Brownie mis is so delicious. Makes a lot and I frost them with canned chocolate frosting and add some peanut butter to it and its delicious. It is very moist.
